River Valley Church SOAP - Part 5Sample

In these two chapters, we see some of Paul’s perspective on the Torah (Genesis-Deuteronomy in our Old Testament). In his view, God has always desired relationship with human beings through faith in Him alone, not through the law of the Torah. The Torah had a purpose: to help Israel be a vehicle to deliver relationship with God through Jesus to all of humanity. Paul wants to stress to the church that being a part of God’s family now happens solely through the freedom that Jesus offers, not through the instruction of the Torah, and that through this a new, multi-ethnic family of God is being created.
