River Valley Church SOAP - Part 5Sample

Paul’s letter to the church in Galatia is in response to a controversy around what the Good News (or Gospel) of Jesus really meant. Many Jewish Christians were telling Gentile Christians that in order to be a part of God’s new family, they had to be circumcised (just as Jews had to before Jesus announced His new kingdom). Paul wants to emphasize what Jesus really did here in this letter, and his argument is that people can be justified, or brought into right relationship with God, through faith in Jesus Christ alone. The instruction of the Jewish Law is no longer required for those who want to be a part of God’s family.
