God's Plan

DAY 2 OF 7

Jonah tried to get as far away as possible from Nineveh because he didn’t want to give them God’s message. God caused a storm at sea, and Jonah decided that jumping overboard would be better than following God’s plan. Have you ever experienced a time where you felt like you’d rather give up than not get your way? Sometimes we don’t want to do what God wants us to because we don’t want to lose our sense of control. But the truth is, God is still in control no matter what. God is the one who has ultimate authority. Running away from God only hurts us more, so the best thing to do is turn around and embrace his plan.

Challenge: Take time today to tell God about an area in your life that you’ve been running from his plan. Be completely honest about how you feel. Tell him why you want to keep control over that area.

About this Plan

God's Plan

Our culture loves to have a plan. We want to know what’s going to happen so we can be prepared and in control. The problem is that our plans often end miserably. We can’t see the future, so it’s impossible to be 100% sure about anything. But the good news is that God has a greater plan than anything we can imagine.
