Uncharted

DAY 6 OF 30

Life has a way of being complicated. Whether we’re facing choices about relationships, responsibilities, or resources, the correct path isn’t always clear-cut, and we can get stuck wondering whether we’re making the right decision. It can be easy to think God has only one perfect path for us to follow, and if we make the wrong choice, we miss His best. But God cares more about our hearts being in the right place than the exact path we take.

Throughout history, God’s people have wrestled with this. It’s human nature to try to control our lives, and we sometimes use rituals and rules to achieve the control we seek. Instead of following a checklist of rights and wrongs or making up a bunch of guidelines, God wants us to trust Him simply.

In the time of the prophet Micah, people complicated their faith with rituals and rules and even abandoned God to worship idols. And yet God continually called them back to a relationship with Him. Micah explained that following God was much simpler than they made it out to be. God asks us to act with justice, mercy, and humility.

Are you facing decisions in your life that have no obvious answer? Remember that when your heart follows what God desires, your steps will follow, even when the path isn’t obvious.

About this Plan

Uncharted

Seasons of life can feel uncertain or uncharted—no clear map. No instructions. Just a nudge to move forward, even when you’re not sure where you’re going. Faith can feel the same way. It can sometimes feel like we’re following God into places that feel too big, too strange, or too complicated. In this devotional, we’ll walk with Moses and wrestle with what it means to trust a God who invites us to move forward even when the road ahead is uncertain.
