UnchartedSample

As Christians, we understand that we’re called to love our enemies. But understanding this command and acting on it are two very different things. When someone has wronged us, it can feel almost impossible to offer mercy and forgiveness, because mercy isn’t the easiest route. In fact, showing mercy to others can feel risky, like uncharted territory. When the world tells us to protect ourselves, keep score, or demand justice on our own terms, God asks us to trust His way and show mercy to others.
God doesn’t just ask us to show mercy to others. He demonstrated the ultimate, limitless mercy by sending His son to die for our sins. That same mercy God shows us is the same He calls us to extend to those who have wronged us. Choosing forgiveness rather than resentment and revenge may feel like walking an uncertain, rocky path, but God promises that His way is the right way.
Where in your life can you show mercy to others? Maybe someone wronged, betrayed, or hurt you, or someone you love. Maybe you disagree with the actions others take, which has led you to hold a grudge. Follow God’s example and let it go. Show mercy when it may not be deserved or earned. When you do, you’ll not only reflect God’s love, mercy, and compassion to others, but you’ll also draw closer to the heart of God.

About this Plan

Seasons of life can feel uncertain or uncharted—no clear map. No instructions. Just a nudge to move forward, even when you’re not sure where you’re going. Faith can feel the same way. It can sometimes feel like we’re following God into places that feel too big, too strange, or too complicated. In this devotional, we’ll walk with Moses and wrestle with what it means to trust a God who invites us to move forward even when the road ahead is uncertain.
