Children's Guide to the Miracles of JesusSample

Day 2: Jesus Meets Peter
After his baptism, Jesus was eager to begin God's work. He thought, "I'll walk to the Sea of Galilee and teach people about God!" At first, Jesus was all alone on the road.

But by the time he arrived at the shore, there were so many people following him that he could barely breathe! Luckily, Peter had just landed his fishing boat.
He invited Jesus to climb on to his boat and preach.

Why do you think so many people were following Jesus? Would you have followed Jesus too?
When he finished preaching, Jesus said to Peter, "Sail out deeper and cast your nets." Peter said, "But I was fishing all night and didn't catch a single fish!"
How do you think Peter felt after fishing all night? Do you think he was tired? Do you think he wanted to go back out and fish more?
Then Peter said, "But because you said told me to, I'll do it."
Do you think Peter caught anything this time? Should you obey Jesus even when you don't agree?
