Day 12 – BE LOVED: No Shame
Scripture: Romans 8:1; 2 Corinthians 5:17
We’ve talked about forgiveness and the kind of God we serve. A God who is faithful to His word. A God who forgives when we come to Him honestly. A God who does not change His mind or go back on what He promises.
When God says He loves you, He means it.
When He says He forgives you, He means it.
So why do so many people continue to carry shame long after they’ve been forgiven?
Sometimes it doesn’t look like shame on the surface. It looks like hesitation. Holding back. Telling yourself, “That could never be me.” It looks like refusing to step forward, serve, or believe that God could still use you because of your past.
Other times it looks like silence. Avoiding your story. Hiding what God has already redeemed because you’re afraid of being judged or misunderstood.
But Scripture tells us something clear and powerful:“There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” That means your past no longer defines you. It no longer has authority over your future. When God forgives, He doesn’t leave you stuck in who you used to be.
Second Corinthians reminds us that when you are in Christ, you are a new creation. The old has gone. The new has come. That doesn’t mean you forget the past, but it does mean the past no longer gets the final word.
To be loved means believing that forgiveness leads to freedom. It means choosing to walk forward without carrying what God has already released.
You are forgiven.
You are made new.
There is no shame left to carry.

About this Plan

You are Beloved. Called to be loved. Sent to be love. This 21-day devotional invites students to discover who they are in Christ, learn how to receive God’s love, and live that love out daily. Through Scripture, honest reflection, and real-life examples, students will explore their identity, respond to God’s invitation, and grow in what it means to love like Jesus. Whether faith feels new or familiar, this plan challenges students to trust God’s heart, choose His way, and let love shape how they live.
