DAY 2 OF 21

Day 2 – BELOVED: Special

Scripture: Genesis 1:26–27, Hebrews 2:6–8

To a parent, you might be their baby.
To a younger sibling, you might be a hero.
To an older sibling, you might be an annoyance.
To a friend, you might be a safe place.
To an opponent, you may be a threat.

You are many things to many people, and sometimes those opinions shape how you see yourself. When that happens, your identity starts to shift depending on who’s looking at you. That’s why it’s important to go back to the beginning. Before labels. Before expectations. Before anyone else had a say.

In Genesis 1, the Bible tells us that when God created humanity, He made us in His own image. He didn’t copy anything else in creation. He used Himself as the inspiration. Hebrews 2 reminds us that God crowned humanity with glory and honor and entrusted us with responsibility. That tells us something important. In God’s eyes, people are not accidental or ordinary.

You are special, not because you are better than others, but because God gave you a place of honor in His creation. That truth is meant for everyone, yet many never fully embrace it. When people forget who they were created to be, they start settling for identities that are smaller than God’s design.

Being made in God’s image also means you were created with the ability to reflect Him. You were made to lead, to create, and to love. It may look different in you than it does in someone else, but it is still part of who you are. God does not mass-produce people. He designed you with intention.

So when other voices try to define you, don’t forget the voice that spoke first.

Stand in your original identity.

You are BELOVED.

And you are special.

About this Plan

BeLOVE(d)

You are Beloved. Called to be loved. Sent to be love. This 21-day devotional invites students to discover who they are in Christ, learn how to receive God’s love, and live that love out daily. Through Scripture, honest reflection, and real-life examples, students will explore their identity, respond to God’s invitation, and grow in what it means to love like Jesus. Whether faith feels new or familiar, this plan challenges students to trust God’s heart, choose His way, and let love shape how they live.
