Day 3 – BELOVED: Known

Scripture: Psalm 139:1–18, Jeremiah 1:5

You are not here by accident.

That may sound simple, but it’s a truth many people struggle to believe. The Bible makes it clear that God is fully aware of your existence and deeply involved in your life. Nothing about you is hidden from Him.

In Psalm 139, King David puts words to this reality in a powerful way. He says that God knows when you sit and when you stand. He knows every place you go and every place you avoid. He understands your thoughts before you even say them out loud. There is nothing about you that surprises Him. God knows you better than you know yourself.

David goes even further. He says God formed his inmost being and knit him together in his mother’s womb. Every part of you was created with intention. Your personality, your gifts, and the way you’re wired were designed with purpose, and the struggles you face do not disqualify you from that purpose. That’s why David responds with worship, saying, “I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

That can be hard to believe when the world is constantly telling you who you should be, what you should look like, and how you should measure up. Comparison is loud. Expectations are heavy. It’s easy to forget that God already knew who you would be before anyone else had an opinion.

The prophet Jeremiah experienced that tension, too. Before he ever saw himself as a leader or prophet, God spoke this truth over him: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” Jeremiah didn’t fully understand what God was calling him to at first, but once he trusted God’s voice over his own doubts, he began to live boldly into that calling.

You may not fully understand your purpose yet, and that’s okay. Your job is not to figure everything out right now, but it is your responsibility to get to know the One who made you. As you grow closer to Him and intentionally align your character with His, He will shape you, clarify your calling, and guide you forward.

You are not unknown.
You are not overlooked.
You are fully known by God.

And you are BELOVED.
