Understanding RighteousnessSample

The Armor and Authority of Righteousness
Scripture: Proverbs 28:1 (NKJV)
“The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.”
Devotional
Walking in righteousness can lead to a sense of boldness and spiritual authority. This armor as Paul outlines in 2 Corinthians 6:7 is the combination of our secure position in Christ and the practical work of God in our lives.
This armor is the accepted gift of righteousness (positional) and the outpouring work of God (practical) which produces right living. Rather than focusing our energy on fighting sin or the enemy, we can find strength by simply standing in the righteousness Christ has provided. As we stay focused on our right standing, we find that we can stand against compromise and walk in the freedom of the Spirit.
Reflection Questions:
- Do I fight the devil directly, or do I focus my effort on being righteous, knowing that the enemy flees from righteousness?
- Where have I allowed compromise/sin into my life, giving the enemy a foothold?
Prayer Declaration
Lord, I thank You for the armor of righteousness. I pray for forgiveness where I have compromised and broken the hedge around my life. I declare that I will walk in boldness and authority today, and I choose right living so that the enemy will find no foothold in me. Amen.

About this Plan

Righteousness is a gift. It is not something you work for, struggle for, or attain through personal effort. This 18-day plan from Pastor Stephen Waiganjo and Ruach West Assembly is designed to help you explore how the Gift of Righteousness is your permanent, non-negotiable qualification. Through reflection, and prayer, we invite you to move past the weight of human effort and rest in the grace of your right standing with God.
