Wisdom From HeavenSample

Treating all people equally
“The wisdom that comes from heaven is… impartial” (James 3:17 NIV)
The Lord God treats everyone equally. Many Bible verses tell us this. He rewards people for the good they do and holds them accountable for the wrong they do (Colossians 3:24-25). He shows no favoritism; He makes no distinction between rich and poor, young and old, or between different nations.
People who live by God’s wisdom will reflect this same fairness. While society often labels people and favors some over others, this should not happen among Christians. Everyone is equally welcome in the church because all people are created in God’s image and have the same value. No one has a higher status than anyone else, and there should be no divisions or rivalry within the church. That is how God wants it to be! James says it plainly: “If you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers” (James 2:9 NIV)
Sadly, this ideal is not always lived out in practice. It was already a problem when James and Paul wrote their letters, and it remains an issue today. Too often, God’s wisdom is replaced by the “wisdom of the world,” and believers begin to put their own interests first. How does this manifest in your church?
