Wisdom From HeavenSample

Ask God for wisdom
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” (James 1:5 NIV)
Over the past few days, we've explored different qualities of true wisdom. The question arises: How do you gain this wisdom? How do you become pure, peace-loving, considerate, submissive, merciful, impartial, and sincere? It’s a pretty high standard, right?
James gives us great advice. If you lack wisdom, ask God for it. He won’t turn you away. James refers here to the wise words of Proverbs 2:3-6 (NIV): “If you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding […] then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.”
That’s why James talks about “wisdom from above.” This kind of wisdom can’t be found through your own ideas, in books, or from the people around you—it only comes from God.
When we ask God for wisdom, we're admitting that we don’t have all the answers. For many people, simply admitting that can be a big step! Where do you stand on this?
James reassures us that God is eager to give wisdom freely and generously. There’s no reason not to ask!
