DAY 9 OF 10

I Know A Name

by Chris Brown

I’ve had moments, sometimes seasons, when any words I think to pray feel powerless — when the chatterbox of fear and worry and my own insufficiency are so loud in my mind they drown out what I know to be true. I’m so thankful I have scripture to remind me that I’m not without an answer. I know a Name. And that Name carries all authority. Jesus is not just a man who lived 2000 years ago. He’s my only hope. And that hope is proven over and over again. If you’re struggling today, let me remind you of the power in the Name of Jesus.

Remember when He spoke to the storm, and the winds and waves obeyed Him, and everything became calm? Chaos does not negotiate with God’s voice — it submits to it. That same authority is still present when we call on Him today. (Matthew 8:26)

Remember when Jesus revealed His power over death? He stood at the tomb of Lazarus and spoke a simple command — “Lazarus, come out” — and life returned where death had settled in. What looked finished was reversed by the power of His Name, showing us He doesn’t just sympathize with our pain, He steps into it with resurrection power. (John 11:43–44)

Remember the vision Ezekiel had where he saw dry bones coming to life when the breath of God entered them? He’s still bringing life to what feels hopeless. Chains can break. Faith can rise. Joy can be ours again — not because of our strength, but because of His Name. (Ezekiel 37:5)

Jesus holds the keys of death and hell. The cross isn’t a reminder of defeat, but evidence of His victory. And the victory you and I have to triumph in His Name. “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?" (1 Corinthians 15:55, NIV)

Today, whatever feels lifeless in your world — don’t try to fix it on your own. Scripture promises that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Call His Name with confidence. There is still power in the Name of Jesus, and every time we call it, resurrection is possible.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, I call upon Your Name today, trusting that Your voice carries authority over every storm and dead place in my life. I trade my fear for Your resurrection power, believing that what feels finished is never beyond Your reach. Amen.
