WEEK 1: WHAT’S FILLING YOU?
What fills your feed will eventually feed your mind and fill your heart.
Day 1: Trees Don’t Lie
Scripture: Luke 6:43–44 (NIV)
“No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers.”
Jesus uses an image everyone understands. You don’t walk up to a thornbush expecting to find figs. What a tree produces tells you exactly what kind of tree it is. The outside always reveals what’s growing on the inside.
He’s not talking about gardening. He’s talking about you.
Your words, your reactions, the way you treat people when you’re tired or frustrated, that’s your fruit. And your fruit doesn’t come from nowhere. It grows from whatever your roots are drawing from.
Think about what you’ve been consuming lately. Not just food, but content. The accounts you follow. The playlists on repeat. The group chats you sit in. The reels you watch at 1 a.m. All of that is feeding something inside you, whether you’re paying attention to it or not.
This week, we’re looking at what’s shaping you beneath the surface. Not to guilt you into a social media fast, but to help you get honest about the connection between what you take in and what comes out.
Because Jesus says the fruit never lies. And if you don’t like what you see growing, it might be time to check the roots.
Reflect: If someone could see the “fruit” of your life this past week, your words, your attitude, your reactions, what would it tell them about what’s been filling your heart?
Today: Before you open any app today, open Scripture first. Even one verse. Notice how it shifts the starting point of your day.
