Day 20: Held Together
Scripture: Colossians 1:17 (NIV)
“He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”
Paul writes this about Jesus. He’s not just a teacher or a role model. He’s the one holding everything together. The universe. Your life. Your emotions. All of it.
Some days it doesn’t feel like anything is holding together. Your thoughts are scattered. Your emotions are all over the place. School feels like pressure. Home feels heavy. Friendships feel complicated. And you’re just trying to get through the day.
But Paul says in Him, all things hold together. That means even when it doesn’t feel like it, Jesus is not absent. He’s sustaining you in ways you can’t see. The fact that you’re still here, still reading this, still seeking, that’s evidence of someone holding you together.
Here’s the gospel that ties this whole series together. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus didn’t just forgive you. He gave you His Spirit. That Spirit is what empowers you to guard your heart, honor your family, choose your friends wisely, and bring your emotions to God instead of being buried by them.
You’re not white-knuckling your way through life. You’re held. Held by someone who felt every emotion you’ve ever felt and still chose the cross. Held by someone who knows exactly what you’re carrying and says, “Bring it to Me.”
So unplug from the noise. Plug into the source. And trust that the one who holds all things together is holding you, too.
Reflect: What area of your life feels like it’s falling apart right now? What would change if you believed Jesus is holding it together?
Today: Take two minutes of silence. No phone. No music. No noise. Just sit with God. Let Him hold what you’ve been gripping. Then walk into the rest of your day knowing you’re not alone.
