Kingdom Grind

DAY 1 OF 20

WEEK 1: VISION

Your calling isn't lost. You just haven't looked in the right places yet.

Day 1: The Blank Map

Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Everyone acts like you're supposed to have it figured out already. What you want to do, who you want to be, where you're headed. And if you don't have an answer ready, people look at you like something's wrong.

Nothing's wrong. You're just being honest about something most people pretend they know.

Here's what's actually true: God isn't waiting on you to figure it out before He shows up. He already knows. That's what Jeremiah 29:11 is saying. Not "I'll have plans for you once you get your act together." He knows the plans right now. Already. While you're still staring at the blank map.

This verse gets quoted a lot, usually in a way that makes it sound like a motivational poster. But the context matters. God said this to people who were exiled. Displaced. Living somewhere they didn't choose, wondering if God had forgotten them. And into that confusion, He says: I know the plans.

You might be in your own kind of exile right now. A school you didn't pick. A family situation you didn't ask for. A season that feels like it's going nowhere. And the word God has for you in that place is the same: I know the plans.

That doesn't mean you stop thinking, stop trying, stop asking questions. It means you don't have to carry the weight of figuring out your entire future before you're allowed to move. God's already ahead of you.

Reflect: What's one thing about your future that's been stressing you out lately?

Today: Write down the thing you're most anxious about regarding your future. Then write Jeremiah 29:11 next to it. Let those two things sit together.

About this Plan

Kingdom Grind

Kingdom Grind is a 20-day devotional designed to help high school students connect their faith to real, everyday life. Over four weeks, students explore four foundational themes —vision, integrity, stewardship, and impact — through Scripture, honest reflection, and a practical daily action step. Each devotional is grounded, direct, and built for students who want their faith to shape not just who they are, but what they build.
