Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "A Place of Power"

DAY 7 OF 31

Difficulties and challenges that we face often cause us to doubt God. When our prayers aren’t answered, when healing hasn’t happened, and when problems seem to get more complicated, we ask, “Is there really a God, and does He even care about me?”

A few years ago, my family and I were in a difficult season. We lived day after day only by faith and trust in God until finally, God restored our family’s condition. Some time ago, a friend asked me, “How were you able to survive those difficult times?” It was then that I started remembering what I experienced in those days. “As hard as my life was then, my family could still eat,” I answered.

In Psalms 103:2, David reminds us never to forget God’s goodness. The next verse says God forgives all your sins, heals all your diseases, redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion. (Psalms 103:3 NIV)

God is a faithful God who will never let His children beg (Psalms 37:25).

If you read Psalms 136, you can learn how the psalmist remembered all the good God has done in the past. He wrote that “His love endures forever.” Remember, God’s love will never change - then, now, and forever. Remember and ponder upon the miracles He has done in the past. He is a God who does miracles in the past, and He will do them today for us. Eben-Haezer: Stone of Help, God, is still helping us today.
