Peace in the StormSample

Strength in Weakness
Paul wanted relief from his thorn, but God gave him grace instead. Sometimes God doesn’t take away our weakness because He wants to reveal His strength in it. Weakness isn’t proof of failure—it’s the backdrop for God’s power to shine. His grace is not just enough; it’s more than enough.
This verse teaches us that weakness isn’t failure, it’s a setup. God uses the very places where we feel the most limited, the most broken, the most incapable — to display His strength. It’s not that God is glorified in spite of our weakness; He’s glorified through it.
We live in a world that tells us to hide our struggles, cover our flaws, and only show the highlight reel. But God invites us to flip that script. Paul says, “I’ll boast in my weakness, because that’s where Christ’s power rests on me.” He’s basically saying, “If you see strength in me, just know it wasn’t me — it was God.”
Think about this: when you’re tired, overwhelmed, or feeling unqualified, that’s not the end of your assignment — that’s the beginning of His strength. Weakness doesn’t disqualify you; it positions you. It opens the door for God to show Himself strong.
I’ve had times when I felt like I couldn’t measure up—as a wife, mom, daughter, sister, leader, or believer. Balancing all my responsibilities and assignments, while attempting to maintain my own sense of self, sometimes places me in a very anxious and frustrated place. But every time I admitted that weakness instead of hiding it, I saw God step in with strength I couldn’t explain. My limitations created space for His limitless power. God shows me all the time that I don't have to be every woman, and I am still only human.
Your testimony isn’t meant to be that you were flawless — it’s that God's grace carried you when you should’ve collapsed. I want to encourage you today: don’t despise your weakness! See it as an altar where God wants to reveal His power. Instead of asking,“Why am I struggling?” ask, “How is God’s strength being perfected in me right now?”
PS: Today's verse is my absolute FAVORITE scripture.
