Time to Shine

DAY 37 OF 42

Week Six - Day Two - God wins!

Welcome to our Time to Shine devotional!  As we journey together through this devotional, we pray it will help our kids to understand that God is light.  He has given us His spirit to help us navigate through the darkness, just like a lighthouse helps ships to navigate dangerous waters, God’s light helps us to navigate this life.  We find His light in His word, in His people and in His presence.  Through well known Bible Stories we want our kids to know that the darkness cannot overpower God’s light!

READ:

Jesus is Coming’ in the Beginners Bible (Pages 504-508) or in Revelation 1:1-2 & 21:2-4.

An Angel appeared to John in a vision.

In the vision John saw Jesus, a bright light surrounded Him!  Jesus came to speak to John about something important that He wanted him to do…

Jesus wants us to be able to hear and see Him in our every day…..

We can hear and see Jesus in the world around us, in the people we love, in the kindness others show us and we show to others.

Maybe you can hear Him speak to you when you pray, read your bible or spend time with Him doing the things you love to do?   Or maybe like John you see Jesus in a dream or vision?

ASK:

Think about how you see or hear Jesus and talk to your big person about it.

REMEMBER:

The Light shines in the darkness. And the darkness has not overpowered the Light. (John 1:5)

SAY:

I can shine your light in the darkness,

With your love and kindness.

We don't ever need to fear,

Because you are always near.

Your light is forever,

Overpowered by darkness?  Never!

We can trust in your light,

Shining so bright.

Leading us through even the darkest days,

In your love and hope we will always stay.

In Jesus name, Amen.
