Week Six - Day Three - God wins!

Welcome to our Time to Shine devotional!  As we journey together through this devotional, we pray it will help our kids to understand that God is light.  He has given us His spirit to help us navigate through the darkness, just like a lighthouse helps ships to navigate dangerous waters, God’s light helps us to navigate this life.  We find His light in His word, in His people and in His presence.  Through well known Bible Stories we want our kids to know that the darkness cannot overpower God’s light!  

READ:

‘Jesus is Coming’ in the Beginners Bible (Pages 504 - 508) or in Revelation 1:1-2 & 21:2-4.

In the vision that John had, Jesus said to him…. “Do not be afraid, write a book about what you see and send it to the Churches”

It must have been very alarming for John when he saw Jesus in his vision surrounded by so much light!

Can you remember last week we looked at John 8:12 - what did Jesus tell His disciples?  Go and find it again - ask your big person to help you. 

Jesus asked John to write a book and send it to all the Churches...can you imagine how amazing this book will be? 

ASK:

Do you have a favourite Bible story or part of the Bible?  Go read it today or ask your big person to read it with you. 

REMEMBER:

The Light shines in the darkness. And the darkness has not overpowered the Light. (John 1:5) 

SAY:

I can shine your light in the darkness, 

With your love and kindness.

We don't ever need to fear,

Because you are always near.

Your light is forever,

Overpowered by darkness? Never!

We can trust in your light,

Shining so bright.

Leading us through even the darkest days, 

In your love and hope we will always stay.

In Jesus name, Amen.
