A major topic mentioned in the book of John is eternal life, as well a focus on the deity of Jesus as the Son of God. We see both of these topics illustrated in chapter 17, as Jesus prays to the Father shortly before his betrayal and arrest. He ends this prayer with a profound statement regarding his time on earth making the Lord’s name known through the love in which God first loved him. Through Jesus’s parables, miracles, and life laid out in the Gospels, time and time again, we are given examples of how to live our lives as Christians. This is true even as Jesus walks through his final days before he is delivered to be crucified. 

Global Prayer Focus:
This week we will be praying for Afghanistan. Let's first pray for the president, Ashraf Ghani, that he would have dreams and visions of Jesus, and that he would come to saving faith in him. Let's also pray that he leads his country with integrity and justice.
