DAY 13 OF 14

A Small Gift for Greater Purposes

Matthew 25:23b

You did well with a small amount of money. So I will let you care for much greater things. Come and share my happiness with me

Throughout this story, Jesus was teaching about the importance of using our blessing and talent wisely so that we can bear fruit, bless others and glorify God’s name. No matter how small or little our blessing or talent seems, as long as we are willing to use it for a positive purpose, God is pleased and He will multiply it.

Each of us has surely been blessed with a certain special talent. We are to use whatever talent we’ve been given by God to the best of our ability for God’s glory. When we have done that, we are called trustworthy servants of God. We should maximize the use of our talents not for our own selfish ambition, but to honor God.

If you are good at playing music or dancing, you can use your talent for helping others or serving God in the ministry. If you are doing well at school, be a wonderful student and help others who might struggle.

Just like the master who was generous to the servant, so is God to us. God not only blesses us with talent, He also blesses us with plenty of gifts, toys, presents, money and precious time. We should appreciate each of God’s blessings by using each of them for positive purposes.

Prayer

Dear God, let me use all the gifts that I received from You to honor and glorify Your name and to bless others. Amen.
