God’s Will Be Done
Matthew 26:42b
May Your will be done...
Jesus went to Gethsemane to have a devotional and private time with God, His Father. Jesus said that He was very sorrowful to the point of death. He spoke to God about how He felt. He knew that His mission was to die on the cross for saving the people He loved. On the other hand, He felt very sorrowful because He knew what He was about to face.
Jesus was facing a tough situation. Jesus had two options. He could obey His Father’s will, or He could refuse to be part of this. Jesus was obedient to the very end. He said, “Not as I will, but as You will.” It was because He obeyed God that He could give us salvation and eternal life.
Learn from Jesus. Obey your parents, teachers and mentors, and more than anything, obey God. Whatever God calls you to do, respond to His call and do it. Do it with all your heart. Do it, knowing that God will be with you throughout anything. Let God’s will be done in your life.
Prayer
Dear God, I want to obey You always. When I am afraid, give me strength and courage to face whatever I need to go through and to say, “Let Your will be done in my life.” Amen.
