Day 6: Courage to Share a Hard Message

Devotional: Courage isn’t always loud—it can look like quietly telling the truth when lying or staying silent would be easier. Nathan had to confront King David, a powerful warrior-king who could have had him killed for speaking up. Instead of avoiding the conversation, Nathan listened to God, went to David, and used a story to help him see his own sin. He didn’t attack David’s character; he spoke truth with love, wisdom, and obedience. Because of Nathan’s courage, David’s heart turned back to God in repentance. Real courage isn’t about being rude or “calling people out” for clout; it’s about caring too much to let someone stay stuck in something that could destroy them. Your honesty, when led by God, can literally help someone’s life change direction.

Telling a friend, “I love you, but this relationship, habit, or choice isn’t healthy,” takes way more courage than hyping them up for something you know is wrong.

Let’s Talk To God: Lord, give me courage to listen for Your voice and speak truth with love. Help me be bold and gentle at the same time, so my words lead people back to You.
