Day 5: Courage to Speak Up for Others
Devotional:
Some battles we face are silent—the pressure to stay quiet, blend in, and protect ourselves. Esther knew this tension well; she was a Jewish girl turned queen in a palace where her true identity was hidden. When a law was passed to wipe out her people, she had to choose between staying safe and speaking up. Mordecai’s words—“Who knows if you were made queen for such a time as this?”—pulled her toward purpose over fear. Esther risked her life by going before the king uninvited, but her courage saved an entire nation. Purpose doesn’t always come when you feel brave; it often shows up when you feel scared but say “yes” to God anyway. Like Esther, God may be positioning you to use your voice for someone who can’t speak for themselves.
Standing up for a classmate who’s being bullied or mistreated might feel risky, but your one decision to speak up could change their whole story.
Let’s Talk To God: God, let Your purpose be louder than my fear. Give me the courage to use my voice to protect, uplift, encourage, and fight for others like Esther did.
Reflection: Who in your life might need your voice right now because they don’t have the strength or platform to speak for themselves? What fears make it hard for you to step in and advocate for someone else — fear of judgment, losing friends, being misunderstood, or getting involved?

About this Plan

This 14-day devotional is designed to help you grow into the kind of young leader God can trust. Fear and uncertainty are real, but God still calls you to rise. Courage isn’t about always feeling brave—it’s choosing faith even when your hands shake. Across these 14 days, you’ll explore stories of people in Scripture who trusted God when nothing made sense, spoke up when silence felt safer, and chose integrity when no one was watching. You’ll learn that courage isn’t something you wait for; it’s something you practice with God’s help, one decision at a time.
