Day 4: Courage to Speak Up for Yourself

Devotional:
Sometimes it feels like everything is working against you, and no matter what you try, nothing changes. That’s how the woman with the issue of blood felt—helpless, drained, unwanted, and alone. For years, she let her condition and people’s opinions define her, but one day she decided to reach for Jesus instead of reaching for another empty solution. She pushed through the crowd, through shame, through rules, and acted in faith by touching the hem of His garment. In that moment, her life changed direction, and her body and identity were restored. Her story reminds us that our feelings of being unlovable or stuck are lies, not facts. When we have the courage to move toward Jesus, our faith can shift the outcome of our situation.

Speaking up to a teacher, counselor, or parent about what you’re really going through can feel risky, but like the woman, that one brave step might be the beginning of your healing.

Let’s Talk To God: Jesus, give me courage to reject the lies and reach for You in faith. Help me act on what Your Word says about me, even when my feelings say the opposite.
