Day 3: Courage to Let Your Actions Prove Your Faith
Devotional:
Some storms happen around you, but the hardest ones happen inside you—anxiety, doubt, and fear battling your faith. When Jesus walked on water toward the disciples in the middle of a storm, they didn’t recognize Him at first and were terrified. Peter, caught between fear and hope, said, “Lord, if it’s really You, tell me to come.” Jesus said, “Come,” knowing Peter would both walk and sink. Peter stepped out of the boat anyway, and for a moment, his faith carried him on top of what should have drowned him. When he looked at the wind instead of Jesus, he started to sink—but Jesus immediately grabbed him. Faith isn’t proven by never sinking; it’s proven by who you reach for when you do.
Signing up to serve, praying out loud, starting the Bible plan, or apologizing first are “step out of the boat” moments where your faith shows up in your actions, not just your words.
Let’s Talk To God: Lord, give me courage to move when You say “come,” even if I feel shaky. When I start to sink, remind me that You are close and ready to grab me.
Reflection: What “boat” is God asking you to step out of so your faith can move from thoughts to action? Who or what do you reach for when you feel you are sinking and how can you redirect focus back to Jesus?

About this Plan

This 14-day devotional is designed to help you grow into the kind of young leader God can trust. Fear and uncertainty are real, but God still calls you to rise. Courage isn’t about always feeling brave—it’s choosing faith even when your hands shake. Across these 14 days, you’ll explore stories of people in Scripture who trusted God when nothing made sense, spoke up when silence felt safer, and chose integrity when no one was watching. You’ll learn that courage isn’t something you wait for; it’s something you practice with God’s help, one decision at a time.
