Every one of us is given opportunities, gifts, and talents to do God’s work, make a difference in others’ lives, and demonstrate faithfulness to our Heavenly Father and the work He calls us to do.
In Matthew 25, Jesus shared a parable that illustrates the importance of faithfulness. In the parable, a man entrusted his servants with wealth before heading out on a journey, giving each according to their abilities. Similarly, God has done the same for each of us. We all possess a set of God-given gifts, talents, and abilities. Some may seem greater than others, but each is valuable because it comes from the Lord.
What gifts, abilities, and opportunities has God uniquely given you? It isn’t how much we have that matters to God, but what we do with it that matters. While we may not all have the same abilities and talents, we do all have the chance to honor God and bless others with what we’ve been given. When we choose to use our talents to serve God and others, we’ll one day hear the amazing words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
