DAY 22 OF 30

Do you ever go to nature to escape the busyness of day-to-day life? Maybe it’s on a quiet hike or watching a sunrise. Perhaps it’s paddling on a still pond or watching waves roll in on the beach. Or maybe it’s simply gardening in your backyard or lying in a hammock. No phones buzzing, no social media feeds, no honking cars—just the peaceful noises of nature. In these moments, it can be easy to feel God's presence. To remember that He is the Creator of the world and all of the wonders in it, and that He’s bigger than anything we’re facing.

Psalm 46 was written after God had delivered Jerusalem from danger. The Holy City had been surrounded, and God's people were on the verge of defeat, but God intervened! It was in this moment that God reminded His people never to forget who He is and that He will be exalted everywhere. It’s almost like God was saying, “Stop worrying. I’ve got this. All you need to do is trust me.”

We can't control everything, and that’s a good thing! When we are still and remember that God is above it all and can handle anything that comes our way, we allow room for Him to work in us. Just as those peaceful, quiet moments in nature bring peace, so too does giving up control. It can shift our focus from the things that bring us stress and worry to the One who is always in control and is always by our side.

About this Plan

Uncharted

Seasons of life can feel uncertain or uncharted—no clear map. No instructions. Just a nudge to move forward, even when you’re not sure where you’re going. Faith can feel the same way. It can sometimes feel like we’re following God into places that feel too big, too strange, or too complicated. In this devotional, we’ll walk with Moses and wrestle with what it means to trust a God who invites us to move forward even when the road ahead is uncertain.
