UnchartedSample

Waiting on the Lord can be extremely difficult. It pushes us against our instincts, wears down our will, and strains our emotions. Yet, when we wait in faith, it produces godly results. The psalmist wrote, “I wait for the Lord” because he knew his life was in God’s hands. He surrendered his own will and desires, waiting and trusting in God.
The writer waited because God spoke to Him. Whether it comes from Scripture, a conversation with a friend or family member, or a sermon, God speaks to all of us in unique ways. And when He does, it creates an expectation that He will fulfill what He has promised. When the writer of this passage said, “and in His word I put my hope,” he created a picture of holding onto truth and waiting, meditating on God, and searching out His Word.
Some seasons of waiting feel endless, and the darkness of our circumstances can seem overwhelming. During these times, we can recall Isaiah’s words, “for since the beginning of the world men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen any God besides You, who acts for the one who waits for Him” (Isaiah 64:4). Waiting is hard, but it’s never pointless. God is always at work for those who trust Him.

About this Plan

Seasons of life can feel uncertain or uncharted—no clear map. No instructions. Just a nudge to move forward, even when you’re not sure where you’re going. Faith can feel the same way. It can sometimes feel like we’re following God into places that feel too big, too strange, or too complicated. In this devotional, we’ll walk with Moses and wrestle with what it means to trust a God who invites us to move forward even when the road ahead is uncertain.
