It’s funny how we always seem to be waiting and wishing for the next thing in our lives; like the season we’re in just isn’t quite enough. In summer, we can’t wait for crisp fall air, colorful leaves, and pumpkin spice everything. At Thanksgiving, we’re already counting down the days until Christmas. Just like we can’t wait for the change of seasons, we often want the next stage of life to hurry up and arrive.
But James reminded us that there’s value in waiting. Like the farmer who trusts the rains will come and the land will yield crops, we too can be in the moment and trust that change is coming. Patience isn’t passive. It’s actively trusting that God is at work, even when our path seems unclear. Just as we know seasons will always change, we can be certain God will fulfill His promises.
