Imagine walking into your favorite coffee shop. The barista greets you by name and starts making your drink before you even order. That feeling of being known, of being personally cared for, changes the way you approach your day. Paul wrote that God created each of us to fulfill a plan and purpose. The same way the barista was ready and waiting for you to step into the coffee shop, God is prepped and ready for us to step into the good works He’s “prepared in advance for us to do."
Think about that. God had a plan and purpose for your life before you even had a relationship with Him. The Message paraphrases it this way: "God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing." This new creation in Christ is not just for personal benefit, but to do good works that God has prepared for us. It’s to accomplish God’s plan for our lives. This is important because our lives are not a mistake or an accident. They are very much on purpose.

About this Plan

Seasons of life can feel uncertain or uncharted—no clear map. No instructions. Just a nudge to move forward, even when you’re not sure where you’re going. Faith can feel the same way. It can sometimes feel like we’re following God into places that feel too big, too strange, or too complicated. In this devotional, we’ll walk with Moses and wrestle with what it means to trust a God who invites us to move forward even when the road ahead is uncertain.
