Confident Access

Imagine standing outside a major event, maybe a hyped concert or a championship game. You can hear the roaring cheers from inside and only imagine what's going on in there, wishing you could be part of what’s happening inside. Only a few are allowed through the doors—those with special access. In the Old Testament, that’s what it was like to approach God. Strict boundaries, heavy curtains, and only one priest, once a year, could even think about entering God’s presence. For everyone else, the message was clear: stay back.

But Hebrews 10 shifts everything. It tells us that, because of Jesus, we now have confidence to enter into God’s presence. No more barriers, no more waiting on the outside. Through His sacrifice, Jesus opened a new and living way for us, removing the obstacles that once kept us apart from God.

This changes how we experience joy. You don’t need to pretend, fix everything about yourself, or wait until you feel “good enough” to talk to God. He welcomes you in, just as you are. No locked doors, no waiting list, no one telling you you’re not allowed. You can come honestly before God, anytime and anywhere.

Real joy doesn’t come from having a perfect life or flawless faith—it comes from knowing God is always available to you. You never have to wonder if you belong in His presence, because Jesus has already made a way.

Application:
Take five minutes today to find a quiet place. Maybe your room, somewhere outside, or even a quiet hallway at school. Use that time to talk honestly with God. Thank Him for giving you direct access, and for making a way for you through Jesus. Remember: you don’t need an appointment to be with Him. You already have an open invitation.
