DAY 20 OF 20

Looking Ahead to What Matters Most

Some stories leave us unsettled for days—maybe a show or movie where the ending felt unresolved or just plain sad. Life is like that sometimes. We walk through struggles, heartbreaks, and seasons of pain that feel like they might never end. It’s not easy, and those moments can weigh heavily on us.

But Revelation 21:4 offers something far greater than an emotional finale or cinematic closure. It gives us a promise straight from God: “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Let those words sink in. Every difficulty, every loss, every silent cry or goodbye, none of it lasts forever. God promises an end to the pain, and it’s not just a temporary relief. One day, all suffering will be erased completely. The story you’re living in now, no matter how overwhelming, is not all there is. Suffering is just a page in the story; God’s final chapter brings a joy so complete that it changes everything that came before.

This is a hope you can trust. It’s not an empty wish or a nice idea—it’s God’s assurance. He keeps His promises. Because of Jesus, we can hold on to hope that isn’t shaken by tough seasons.

Application:
Take a little time in quiet today, just you and God. Imagine a life free of pain, grief, and worry. Even when it’s hard to picture, let that promise encourage you. Thank God for the future He has planned, and let that assurance give you strength for today.
