What Does It Mean to Be Human?Sample

Wonder: The majesty of God
Psalm 8 opens with awe. Looking at the vast heavens – the moon and stars – David marvels at God’s majesty. His name fills the earth; His glory shines in creation; His artistry is on display in every detail. From galaxies light-years away to the fragile cry of an infant, God’s majesty surrounds us.
And yet, God’s greatness is not distant. Verse 2 surprises us: God works through the weak. He silences enemies not with military strength but through the praise of children. His power shows up in unexpected places – small voices, overlooked lives, simple acts of faith.
Wonder recalibrates us. In a world obsessed with power, success, and achievement, Psalm 8 reminds us: God’s majesty is not measured by human standards. He is infinite yet intimately involved. He paints the night sky with His fingers but bends low to hear our prayers.
Pause for a moment today. Look up at the sky, or out at the world around you. Let creation remind you of the Creator. Wonder is not a distraction; it is an invitation. When we take time to marvel at who God is, our perspective shifts. Problems shrink, pride melts, and worship rises.
Reflection:
Where do I see God’s majesty today – in creation, in people, or in the quiet ways He works through weakness?
Prayer:
Majestic Lord, open my eyes to your glory all around me. Help me slow down, notice, and marvel at your greatness. Teach me to live with a sense of wonder. Amen
