Exodus: Chapter by ChapterSample

From Fear to Faith
Isn’t it just like us to let fear take over when things aren’t going well? When pressure mounts and answers feel distant, fear often becomes our default response. Yet nothing builds our faith quite like witnessing a miracle. When God moves in a way only He can, fear loses its grip and faith rises.
We see this clearly in the story of Israel’s deliverance from Egypt. God leads His people out of slavery with unmistakable signs of His presence, a pillar of cloud by day, fire by night. But when they reach the Red Sea, fear rushes in. Behind them is Pharaoh’s army. In front of them is an impossible obstacle. What looked like freedom suddenly felt like defeat.
Then God does what only He can do. He makes a way where there was no way. The sea parts, the people walk through on dry ground, and fear is replaced with faith. What began as panic turns into praise as Israel witnesses God’s power firsthand. Their worship flows not from theory, but from experience. They saw the Lord save them.
That same God is still at work today. He is still the One who opens paths through impossible situations. He still specializes in moments where human solutions run out and divine power steps in. When we trust Him, our fear doesn’t have the final word; faith does.
Respond to God’s Word:
- Where do you need to trust God to make a way when you see no solution?
