Bigger Than Us

DAY 19 OF 30

Doing good sounds simple—until it starts to cost something. It’s easy to be kind when it’s noticed, generous when it’s appreciated, or faithful when it’s fruitful. But Paul reminds us that sometimes the good we do feels like sowing seeds into dry ground—unseen, unrewarded, and exhausting. That’s why this verse is both a warning and a promise. The warning: don’t grow weary. Weariness can blur our vision and make us forget that God is working, even when we can’t see it. The promise: there’s a harvest coming—not if we perform perfectly, but “if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9). God’s timing is always “the proper time.” What feels delayed is often divine preparation.

So, keep loving that difficult person. Keep serving when it feels unnoticed. Keep praying when it seems silent. Keep showing up to the “great work” God has called you to. Every act of faithfulness is a seed in God’s hands, and He never wastes a seed sown in obedience.

Where in your life are you tempted to give up doing good because the results seem slow? What would it look like to trust God’s timing instead of your own? Who might need your encouragement to keep going today?

Remember: perseverance plants what patience will one day harvest. Your consistency in the small, unseen moments is producing fruit that will one day be revealed.

About this Plan

Bigger Than Us

The real challenge in life is not how well we start but how we stay faithful over time. In this devotional, we will journey with God’s people as they move from brokenness to renewal. We’ll meet a God who uses personal burdens, teamwork, perseverance through opposition, His Word, and lifelong faithfulness to accomplish His purposes. When the opposition feels too strong, there’s a bigger God who meets us in the middle of it all—a God who works in and through ordinary people.
