Bigger Than UsSample

Isaiah spoke these words to a weary people living in uncertain times. Kingdoms were rising and falling, leaders came and went, and God’s people faced exile and loss. In the middle of all that instability, Isaiah lifted their eyes to a deeper truth: everything in this world fades, but God’s Word remains. The beauty of a flower, the strength of nations, the achievements we chase—they all have a season. But God’s promises are eternal. His truth doesn’t shift with culture, time, or circumstance. When everything else around us changes, His Word stands firm.
In a world obsessed with the temporary—trends, headlines, opinions—Isaiah reminds us to anchor our hope in what cannot change. The Word of God doesn’t wither; it renews. It doesn’t fade; it fulfills. It doesn’t pass away; it endures.
What “temporary” things have you been trusting to bring security or meaning? How might you anchor yourself this week in something lasting—a promise from Scripture, a verse to memorize, or a truth to meditate on?
Try this: write down one Scripture that has sustained you through changing seasons and keep it visible this week as a reminder of what truly endures.

About this Plan

The real challenge in life is not how well we start but how we stay faithful over time. In this devotional, we will journey with God’s people as they move from brokenness to renewal. We’ll meet a God who uses personal burdens, teamwork, perseverance through opposition, His Word, and lifelong faithfulness to accomplish His purposes. When the opposition feels too strong, there’s a bigger God who meets us in the middle of it all—a God who works in and through ordinary people.
