Where is This Relationship Headed?
You’re juggling dozens of relationships, but are they blessing you or burdening you?
Every relationship flows from one of three sources: the Holy Spirit, the flesh, or the demonic. Discern which is which.
You can’t fix what you won’t face. Most relationship stress comes from one overlooked truth: not all connections are created equal.
Some relationships are life-giving, Spirit-filled, Christlike, and rooted in truth. Others are draining, marked by selfishness, chaos, or manipulation. And a few? Flat-out dangerous, pulling you toward darkness, not light.
The Bible draws a hard line. Galatians 5 calls believers to live in the Spirit, bearing fruit such as love, peace, and self-control. But it also warns of the flesh, filled with jealousy, anger, and sin. And James 3? It names the third category: demonic, rooted in bitterness, selfish ambition, and destruction.
You can’t have a healthy relationship with someone who’s spiritually unhealthy. Stop expecting spiritual fruit from someone who isn’t even connected to the vine (John 15:5). It’s time to assess, honestly.
You’re not judging someone by discerning where they’re headed; you’re protecting what God has entrusted to you. Some people bring peace when they enter a room; others bring peace when they leave it. It’s not unloving to create distance from those who reject the Holy Spirit’s work in their own lives. In fact, Scripture commands it (2 Timothy 3:5). Your time, energy, and emotional health are limited. Stop wasting your strength trying to revive what God’s told you to release. Start investing in the relationships that bear fruit, and pruning the ones that don’t.
Who in your life consistently brings you closer to Jesus, and who pulls you further away?
