Are You Walking With the Wise?
Most people surround themselves with what’s familiar, not what’s wise.
The right people sharpen you. The wrong ones sabotage you.
You don’t drift into wisdom, you walk into it, one step and one relationship at a time. The Bible says that who you walk with determines who you become. You hang with the wise, you grow. You run with fools, you crash.
There are only three kinds of people in your life: wise, foolish, and evil. The wise live by the Spirit. They’re humble, teachable, responsible, and they make you stronger. These are your shepherds, the people God uses to guide, protect, and sharpen your faith.
If you want to grow, you need more than sermons. You need shepherds, mentors, spiritual leaders, and godly friends who’ve been where you’re going. You also need discernment to know who’s actually wise and who just plays the part.
You don’t need a massive circle; you need the right circle. Don’t chase popularity. Chase maturity.
Wisdom doesn’t just teach you what to do, it teaches you who to listen to. Wise people welcome correction, own their mistakes, and keep moving forward. They don’t blame-shift, explode, or shut down when challenged. They repent, adjust, and grow. If you want to become that kind of man or woman, you must place yourself under that kind of influence. Pride isolates. Humility positions you for growth. Walking with the wise means choosing discomfort now so you don’t live with regret later.
Who in your life models godly wisdom, and how can you walk more closely with them?
