DAY 14 OF 20

Day 14: Generosity Is a Weapon Against Greed

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 9:6–7 (NIV)
"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

Greed is quiet. It doesn't announce itself. It just slowly convinces you that you never have enough, that giving away anything is a loss, that holding on is the smart move.

Generosity is the antidote. Not because it's a financial strategy, but because it rewires how you see what you have.

When you give, you're making a statement. You're saying: I trust that God can provide. I'm not gripping this so tightly that I can't let any of it go. I believe there's more where this came from, not because I'm naive, but because I trust the one who provides.

Paul says God loves a cheerful giver. Not a reluctant one. Not a guilty one. Cheerful. That kind of generosity only comes from someone who genuinely believes they're not going to run out, because their source isn't their own hustle. It's God.

You don't have to be rich to be generous. Generosity with your time, your attention, your skills, your encouragement, your money when you have it, all of it counts. And all of it shapes you into someone who holds things loosely, which is exactly the kind of person God can trust with more.

Reflect: What's one area where you tend to be stingy? Time? Money? Encouragement? What's driving that?

Today: Do something generous today that costs you something real. Not a leftover. Something that actually requires you to trust God with the gap.

About this Plan

Kingdom Grind

Kingdom Grind is a 20-day devotional designed to help high school students connect their faith to real, everyday life. Over four weeks, students explore four foundational themes —vision, integrity, stewardship, and impact — through Scripture, honest reflection, and a practical daily action step. Each devotional is grounded, direct, and built for students who want their faith to shape not just who they are, but what they build.
