Real joy doesn't worry about looking cool. It celebrates God without apology.

Day 6: The King Who Danced

Scripture: 2 Samuel 6:14 (NIV)
"David, wearing a linen ephod, danced before the Lord with all his might."

David was the most powerful person in the nation. He had a reputation to protect, a kingdom to run, and an entire crowd watching him. And he danced with everything he had.

Not a subtle sway. Not a dignified nod. Everything he had.

And he wasn't dressed in his royal robes trying to look impressive. He wore a simple linen garment, the kind priests wore. He stepped out of his king costume and just celebrated God like everyone else.

There's something countercultural about that. We live in a world that rewards cool. Controlled. Unbothered. The person who cares too much about anything is the one who gets made fun of. So we learn to keep things contained. We don't let people see how much we actually feel something, because feeling things too visibly is a liability.

But David didn't get that memo. Or maybe he did and just didn't care. Because what he was celebrating was bigger than his image. The presence of God was coming to dwell with His people. And that was worth looking undignified for.

You're going to have moments where genuine worship, genuine faith, genuine joy makes you stand out. Where it looks like too much to the people around you. The question is whether what you're celebrating is real enough to you to be worth it.

Reflect: When was the last time you let yourself be genuinely, visibly excited about something related to your faith? What held you back if you didn't?

Today: Find one moment today to celebrate God without filtering it. In your room, in your car, wherever. Let it be real and uncontained, even if nobody sees it.
