WEEK 1: GOD CELEBRATES WITH YOU
Jesus didn't come to shut down the party. He came to make it better.
Day 1: He Showed Up
Scripture: John 2:1–2 (NIV)
"On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus' mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding."
Jesus was invited to a party. And He went.
That's the first thing worth sitting with. Not a prayer meeting. Not a synagogue. A wedding celebration that was going to last multiple days, with food and music and people just enjoying each other. And Jesus said yes to the invitation.
A lot of people grow up with this picture of God as someone who's mostly interested in the serious parts of life. The spiritual disciplines. The quiet moments. The heavy stuff. And somewhere along the way, fun starts to feel like something you do away from God, not with Him.
But Jesus showed up to the party. He didn't send a message saying He was too busy with more important things. He came. He sat at the table. He was present in the celebration.
That tells you something about who God actually is. He's not waiting for you to get back to the "real" stuff after you've had your fun. He wants to be in the fun. He created celebration. He invented laughter. He designed you to enjoy life, and He wants to be part of that.
Whatever you've been told about God being against joy, this is where it starts to fall apart. The first miracle Jesus ever performed happened at a party. That's not an accident.
Reflect:Do you naturally include God in your good moments, or does He feel more like someone you return to after the fun is over? Where did that come from?
Today:The next time you're genuinely enjoying something, pause for two seconds and thank God for it. Just a quick acknowledgment. Practice including Him in the good stuff.
