FUN

Someone has pointed out that recreation means to "re-create" or to "renew." God allows us this time for renewal and to grow in our faith. Even God in Genesis 1, after working (creating the universe in 6 days), He rested on the Sabbath and since on He commanded that we need to have our Sabbath rest.

Fun, entertainment are all gifts from God given that we might grow closer in Him. We should always remember to thank God when we are planning for recreation remembering always that such gift comes from God. God wants us to enjoy ourselves as in ECC 3.12-13 where we are encouraged to rejoice not in sin or sinful pleasures but in a cheerful manner.

We are to enjoy the blessings of life in a comfortable way and with a thankful heart, especially to rejoice in spiritual things and above all in Christ. We are to do good in this life - to ourselves and our families and to others. Our hobbies sometimes bring out the creativity in us which is a gift from God who is the author of beauty.

Our times with our family and friends is given to us so we can strengthen our relationships with them. The sports we are engaged in can help strengthen our physical and mental abilities so we can serve God more and better. A.W. Tozer said that "God is a good God and He delights in the happiness of his people."
