DAY 33 OF 40

Week 6 – Day 33 (Friday)

Psalm 82:3-4 – Extend a Helping Hand

Jesus was always attentive to the needs of others, especially society's outcasts like the poor, orphaned, and widowed of His time. He spoke of the reward for those who show compassion to the needy in Matthew 25:31-46. When someone helps another without seeking reward or recognition, it pleases the Lord and merits eternal reward. Jesus even said that when you help those in need, it’s as if you are helping Jesus Himself.

Today’s psalm highlights the importance of helping those in need. How can our service stay fresh and vibrant? When we see the face of Jesus in every person, we’re inspired to extend a helping hand.

“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40)
