Easter ReflectionsSample

Before his betrayal, Jesus shared one last supper with his disciples and washed their feet. The bread he served them symbolized his body that would be broken for them, and the cup of wine symbolized his blood that would be poured out for them. He would die a sacrificial death, and here he was establishing an ordinance that would forever remind his followers of his work and ministry.
The Last Supper is critical to us today because it reminds us of what the Lord of heaven did to reconcile us back to him. Jesus shed his blood for our forgiveness and redemption. Therefore, during this Easter season, as believers, we ought to partake of the elements to remind ourselves that Christ did what none could ever do.
It is worth noting that bread and wine do not bring us salvation; they are only useful to those who have already received God's gift of grace. Until a heart is bowed in repentance and rightly adores Christ as Lord and Savior, the bread and cup count only for judgment (1 Corinthians 11:27-29).
Prayer:
Thank you, Lord, for giving your body and shedding your blood for my redemption. Help me never to lose sight of the great price you paid for my sake. Amen.
